The third HERA Ovarian Cancer Climb for Life Celebration is coming to Boulder, Colorado on June 26 and 27 for a weekend of climbing fun and fundraising for ovarian cancer research. Ovarian cancer, occurring once in every 72 women, has a low survival rate and is difficult to detect early. The last event in Rockville, Maryland and DC raised an impressive $60,000.

The Climb 4 Life event raises cash through participant fundraising and community and corporate sponsorship. All funds go to the HERA Foundation for research. You set a goal for how many vertical feet of climbing you want to climb and how much cash you want to raise. HERA (Health, Empowerment, Research, Awareness) encourages you try to raise $125. Besides climbing, you can attend instructional clincs at the Boulder Rock Club and REI, take yoga classes, get free massages, climb with the pros, and have lots of fun.

Early bird registration is $50. After June 1 it’s $65. On-line registration continues to June 24 or you can register at Boulder REI and Boulder Rock Club on June 26. Download application forms and get more information at HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation. Be there, have fun, go climbing, raise money for a great cause!
