Mount Democrat, a 14,155-foot-high mountain southwest of Denver, is one of the easiest of Colorado's 54 Fourteeners and the state's 29th highest mountain. The peak, lying just east of the Continental Divide, is usually climbed with neighboring 14,286-foot Mount Lincoln and 14,172-foot Mount Bross, allowing peak baggers the opportunity to tick off three in a day.
Right now is the perfect time to climb Mount Democrat. The air is brisk but usually no snow is on the trail until sometime in October. For more information and history about Mount Democrat along with a trail description and map, check out my new article Climbing Mount Democrat: Route Description for 14,155-Foot Mt. Democrat and go climb a peak this weekend.
