
This past May, filmmaker David Breashears made a gigapixel photograph of Mount Everest from the Pumori viewpoint above Everest Base Camp and across from the Khumbu Glacier. Check out the image at Glacier Works.
Make it full screen and zoom in. You can see hundreds of colored tents at Base Camp; climbers and Sherpas standing around; a group of climbers navigating the left side of the treacherous Khumbu Icefall; and a hundred or so climbers working up the Lhotse face toward the South Col, the prominent saddle between Mount Everest and Lhotse. It's an amazing image with extreme detail...enjoy!

Great pic of the mountain.. Would really like to see the climbing routes marked for reference and names of all peaks.
