By Stewart Green, About.com

Sketched Out

The feeling a climber has when he is getting pumped or that insecure feeling he has before falling. Climbers may also say that they feel sketchy or insecure on hard routes.

Usage: Just after cranking a hard route, you say, “I was way up there just below the anchors when I started feeling sketched out, but I pulled through and reached the anchors.”
