North Sixshooter Peak, perched on a lofty talus cone just east of Canyonlands National Park, is a multi-summitted tower that resembles its namesake pistol. Although the tower was first climbed in 1962, Ed Webster and Pete Williams pieced together a superb line of cracks up its vertical east face in 1979. Their route, dubbed Lightning Bolt Cracks, is now deservedly popular with perfect Wingate sandstone, sustained and varied crack climbing, lots of exposure, and excellent protection with cams.
