Cathedral Ledge, a 500-foot granite cliff pasted on the mountainside west of the resort town of North Conway in northern New Hampshire, is simply one of the finest climbing venues in New England. The half-mile-long, east-facing cliff offers lots of stellar routes up its steep cracks, vertical faces, and slabby walls. Lots of five-star routes, like the classic two-pitch Book of Solemnity (5.10a), lace Cathedral. Besides excellent climbing on over 350 routes and variations, Cathedral Ledge has perfect granite, easy access, good protection on the routes, and a scenic setting, especially in late September and October when the famed colors of the New Hampshire autumn spread across the White Mountains.
