Steve Wood, an artist and sculptor living in Manitou Springs, Colorado, is a long-time climber and adventurer. Steve graciously allowed me to publish this collection of fabulous rock climbing drawings that he made in the 1980s, primarily when he was a student at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. The detailed pen and ink drawings illustrate Steve’s love for climbing and the wild places it takes you, like the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Cochise Stronghold, and the Utah canyon country. Now, besides climbing and drawing, Steve Wood also does lots of landscape painting as well as community-centered public art projects in Colorado Springs. He founded and directs Concrete Couch, a non-profit organization which builds community through creative enterprises.
