Definition of a Climbing Word

Finger Crack

A crack or crevice on a vertical face that is the width of a climber’s fingers, usually between ½-inch and one-inch wide. Climbers ascend it by finger jamming or wedging their fingers in the crack. Finger cracks are protected by small cams and nuts like Stoppers.
