Fist Jam
A fist jam is a crack climbing technique used to ascend cracks that are the width of a climber’s fist, usually three to four inches wide. To jam a fist crack, a climber makes a fist and then wedges his entire fist in the crack, allowing the friction from the sides of his hands and fists against the rock to hold him in place.
