Colorado, the roof of the Rockies, offers 55 Fourteeners or mountains above 14,000 feet for climbers to tackle. Colorado offers more mountains above 14,000 feet than any other U.S. state including Alaska.     Honorable Mention

    These peaks are above 14,000 feet high but do not meet the official USGS or Colorado Mountain Club criteria for being separate Fourteeners. Of course, El Diente Peak and North Maroon Peak, neither of which fit the criteria, are included in the above list since they have long been considered members of the exclusive Fourteener club. Best to climb them all!
